Our Team
The YWAM Arua family is made up of 50 staff, coming from 10 different nations around the world, each with a different story and a different passion

John & Vikki were part of a team who pioneered YWAM Arua back in 2002. They are elders of the base and are passionate about mobilising Africans into missions
Augustine & Miriam have been with YWAM Arua since 2016 when they relocated from Yei. They are elders of our base and together they lead the Family Ministry School
Adam Juma and his family arrived in Arua from Darfur in 2023. He is passionate about Bible translation and ministering to the persecuted church in Darfur
Anna joined us in 2024 and serves in DTS and hospitality and is currently pioneering a new children’s ministry program in a nearby village community
Bato joined us in 2022 and has been serving in the DTS and Frontier MIssions schools. He is passionate about discipling young people through sports ministry
Benjamin has just joined our base from Nigeria and will be joining our DTS team this year. He is passionate about empowering disadvantaged children and youth
Buroha has been with us since 2016. His passion is youth ministry but he also serves in our administration office. His wife, Angel, is also in the process of joining us
Charles has been serving at the base for a number of years and has a vision for sustainability. His wife Pascalina also recently joined as staff and serves in hospitality and agriculture
Chris & Mandy moved to Arua in 2019. Chris helps support the DTS and our administration office and Mandy leads the children’s ministry team, with a particular focus on Nazareth House.
Christopher & Hanan have been here since moving from Wau in 2016. They are passionate about Disciple Making Movement and together help lead the School of Frontier Missions
Dorcus has been on staff since 2023 after doing her DTS & SBS with us, and she is now serving in DTS. She is passionate about reaching and serving the deaf community
Deogracias joined YWAM Arua in 2022. He serves in the School of Biblical Studies and is also part of our maintenance team
Edward & Pamela have been with us for over 10 years and have served in many different ministries. Edward is currently helping to run the SBS while Pamela leads our worship team
Elida joined YWAM Arua with her family in 2009. She is passionate about empowering young women through vocational training and also serves in hospitality
Emma has been at YWAM Arua since 2023. He is our accountant and is passionate about youth ministry
Francis has been on staff since 2023 after doing her DTS & SBS with us and he now helps staff the SBS. His wife, Scovia, is also in the process of joining us
George joined us on staff this year, having previously been a student with us. He is passionate about music and currently serving with the SBS team
Gift did his DTS with us in 2018. He is now one of our DTS leaders and is passionate about discipling young people, reaching orphans, and mercy ministry among refugees
Grace Bagalwa has been with us since 2023. He is part of a ministry called Signers & Speakers United as well as staffing our DTS, helping to make it accessible to signers
Grace Bella did her DTS with us in 2024 and has just joined as staff. She is part of our children’s ministry and hospitality teams
Isaac recently did both DTS and SBS with us at the base and has just joined as staff, as part of the SBS team
Jennifer joined us as staff this year, having just completed her SBS with us. She now serves as part of the SBS team
John & Charity joined us from YWAM Salem in 2023. They both serve in a variety of ways around the base and they have a passion for bringing the hope of the gospel to refugees
John & Mary joined the base in 2023. John is passionate about reaching unreached people and helps staff the School of Frontier Missions. Mary has been serving in the DTS and hospitality
Juma has been staff at the base since 2022 and is a true servant - always ready to help. He currently serves in the kitchen and with the agriculture team
Khalila joined us as staff this year, having previously done her DTS with us. She is an active member of the Nubian community in Arua and she serves as staff on our Family Ministry school
Lina joined us as staff in 2024 and currently serves on the School of Frontier Missions
Lokuta relocated to Arua from Yei in 2016. He helps lead the School of Frontier Missions and has been pioneering a new outreach location among an unreached people group in Magwi
Mambo (MB) did his DTS with us in 2018 and joined us as staff the next year. He is passionate about discipling youth in the refugee camp and is one of our DTS leaders
Mike began staffing with us in 2023. He is passionate about helping people understand the Word of God and having in their mother tongue. He is currently serving in the SBS
Moses & Miriam came to Arua in 2021 and are both passionate about restoring marriages & families, and serve as part of our Family Ministry School
Nancy joined the base in 2022, shortly after doing her DTS with us. She regularly staffs DTS and is also part of the worship team
Nelson joined YWAM Arua in 2013 and for a long time has been the driving force behind our prison ministry. He is passionate about reaching the lost with the gospel
Salah and his family arrived in Arua from Darfur in 2023. He is passionate about Bible translation, reaching unreached tribes, and ministering to the persecuted church in Darfur
Njumi & Hiba joined YWAM Arua in 2020. Shortly afterward, Njumi pioneered the School of Biblical Studies (SBS) in our base which they both help to run
Raimon joined us as staff in 2024. He is passionate about discipling children and is pioneering a new chiildren’s ministry program in a nearby village on the DRC border
Santos & Agnes relocated to Arua from Yei in 2016. Santos is passionate about reaching the unreached and is part of refugee ministry team. Agnes serves in the VTS (tailoring school)
Toburo has been staff with us since 2010. He speaks over a dozen languages and has frequently been staff on our DTS. He also pastors a local church near the base
Yasir joined us as staff in 2024, having recently completed his SBS with us. He is currently staff on the SBS while his wife, Jennifer, is about to do her DTS at the base
Yohana did his DTS with us in 2022 and joined as staff in 2023. He serves in the School of Frontier Missions as well as helping to run a children’s program for the local Darfur community
Yolam joined YWAM Arua in 2008 and is one of our longest serving staff members. He is a key part of our maintenance team and regularly serves as a driver for visiting teams
All of our staff are volunteers and depend on God to provide for all of their financial needs - often through their church, family and friends.
