What is a DTS?
The DTS seeks to bring you into a more intimate relationship with God. It also gives you an opportunity to discover your passions and your part in God’s purposes for the world. It is for those who long to follow Jesus in new ways with a different perspective.
The course is a full-time program and lasts six months. It consists of two parts: lecture phase and outreach phase. In the lecture phase, you will learn more about God and His world. You’ll learn not only from lectures but also from community living and practical training. The outreach phase focuses on applying what you learned in the classroom through an intense, cross-cultural experience.
Peace and Reconciliation
YWAM Arua has always been called to be a bridge of healing to the nations. Arua, and the wider West Nile region of north-western Uganda, has long been an island of peace in the midst of war, and all around us are people who have been traumatised by war. Tribalism is a big issue we face, and many of the people we work with are burdened with bitterness and unforgiveness.
Because of this, for the last two years, YWAM Arua’s DTS has been themed “Peace & Reconciliation”. We still cover all the usual teaching topics, however we also emphasise topics such as forgiveness, peace & reconciliation and trauma healing.
In line with our vision to be a bridge of healing to the nations, our outreaches focus on the war torn nations of northern Uganda, South Sudan and DR Congo.
